Type 🤯 on iPhone and iPad
Open any app with a text field, switch to the emoji keyboard, and use the search box if your keyboard displays one. Search for “exploding head,” “mind blown” or “shocked.” Tap 🤯 to insert it at the cursor.
If the emoji keyboard is unavailable, enable it in the keyboard settings or copy the character from this page. Copying and pasting preserves the Unicode character and works across most modern apps.
Type 🤯 on Android
Open Gboard, Samsung Keyboard or another emoji-capable keyboard and tap the emoji icon. Use the search function and enter “exploding head.” Keyboard names and category placement may differ, but the emoji is usually grouped with smileys and reactions.
Older Android versions may not display the symbol correctly. A system update or newer app can improve support, although the final artwork still depends on the device vendor.
Type 🤯 on Windows
Press the Windows key and period at the same time. The Windows emoji panel appears near the active text field. Search for “exploding head” or browse the smiley category, then select 🤯.
The panel works in many browsers, documents and chat apps. When a particular program does not support the panel, copy and paste the character instead.
Type 🤯 on macOS
Press Control, Command and Space to open the Character Viewer. Search for “exploding head,” select the emoji and insert it into the active application. You can keep the viewer open while adding multiple symbols.
Mac artwork may look different from Android or Windows because each platform uses its own emoji design. The underlying Unicode value remains U+1F92F.
Type 🤯 on Chromebook and Linux
On many Chromebooks, right-click inside a text field and choose Emoji, or open the on-screen emoji panel from the keyboard interface. Linux methods vary by desktop environment and application, so Unicode copy and paste is the most consistent fallback.
Web-based editors may also provide their own emoji picker. Search by the official concept “exploding head” if “mind blown” returns no result.
Use code values when typing is not possible
For web development, insert the plain character or use 🤯 and 🤯 in HTML. A shortcode such as :exploding_head: only works in services that explicitly convert shortcodes.
If a box appears instead of the emoji, the current font or system lacks support. The text still contains a code point, but the device needs a compatible emoji font to draw it.
Save time with a reusable shortcut
If you use 🤯 frequently, save it in a note, text replacement or clipboard manager supported by your device. A text replacement can expand a memorable phrase such as “;mindblown” into the emoji, provided the operating system allows custom shortcuts. Avoid a trigger that might appear in ordinary writing.
For shared documents and websites, confirm that the file uses UTF-8 and preview the result on more than one device. Typing the character is only the first step; compatible encoding and fonts are what make it display correctly for other people.
